What is a Liposuction?
Liposuction surgery is performed to remove localized deposits of fat cells from the body. Through a small incision located discreetly on the skin, a very thin cannula is inserted. With a high-pressure vacuum, fat cells are removed through this tube.
What is a Liposculpture?
Liposculpture is the evolution of basic liposuction. Even finer cannulas are used, and closer to the surface, to allow the necessary retraction of the skin that will re-define your body.
What Areas can be Treated with Liposuction or Liposculpture?
The most frequent areas are the abdomen, the waist, the back, in women and men. Women also request removal of fat from the lower extremities (inner and outer thighs, knees, etc.). Contouring the neck also improves the aesthetic appearance of men and women. The fat can be recycled and used as “filler”, in cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, or to improve the buttock area.

Is The Elimination of Fat Definitive?
Yes! After puberty, the body does not create new fat cells. When you get fat, it expands the fat cells that you already have. Tumescent liposuction permanently removes fat cells to improve the contour of your body. If you gain weight after liposuction, you will go to the fat cells that were left in your body. Fat deposits that existed prior to liposuction and may not expand out of proportion to adjacent areas.
Recovery
Depending on the extent of the procedure, you must spend the night in our recovery suite, or you can return home and rest. You can increase your activity gradually, as long as you can tolerate it. After 7 days, you can return to your normal activities. You must use a comfortable compression garment, or clothing adjusted to the body on the treated area to help with the swollen.

Dr. Alexandrish Karvendrish Rodríguez Tavárez, specialized in Plastic Surgery, was trained at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in 2008, obtaining the title of Doctor of Medicine with honor Magna Cum Laude, in the same year she started her Law internship, at the Health Center of Santo Domingo, ending in 2009, when she decides to leave to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to continue her academic and professional preparation. She was trained in General Surgery at the Santa Casa da Misericordia Hospital in Rio de Janeiro – 17th school, with a duration of 3 years, in 2013 she started her Postgraduate in Aesthetic Medicine at the Souza Marques Technical-Educational Foundation with an approach specially directed to cosmetic procedures during one year and in 2014 she started her Postgraduate in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, at the prestigious Postgraduate Service in Plastic Surgery Professor Ronaldo Pontes at the Niterói D’or Hospital in Rio de Janeiro, where she stood out for her commitment, ability, respect and exceptional attention with everyone.
During the 7 years she lived in Brazil, she took several courses and attended both national and international conferences, perfecting her knowledge in the field of Plastic Surgery. She is a member of the Dominican Society of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (SODOCIPRE), Ibero-Latin American Federation of Plastic Surgery (FILACP), Dominican Medical College (CMD) and Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery (SBLMC).
