Brazilian Butt-Lift
The procedure of increasing the size of the buttocks, and reshaping them using the same patient’s fat, is known as “Brazilian Butt-Lift”.
This name evolved because the procedure was carried out mainly in Brazil. They were the first to report results worldwide in the medical literature. The correct term is “autologous fat graft (your own) for the gluteal area.”
The fat grafting not only allow the correction of deficiencies in the area, but also increase the size of the buttocks, and lift them to a greater extent.
Process
The Brazilian “Butt-Lift” procedure is done in conjunction with liposuction. It is indicated, as necessary, to get enough fat, which will then be injected into the buttocks. The typical procedure includes liposuction of the abdomen and back (upper, lower, or both). All this usually provides enough fat for the graft. Depending on the doctor, it will process the obtained fat and refine it in different ways.

Our Procedure
In order to ensure the best result of persistence and non-resorption, Dr. Alexandrish Karvendrish performs the following steps:
It will gather the tissue in sterile containers. She will separate fat cells from any other type of material that is not necessary.
Then fill small syringes with the refined fat tissue. In a later step and in layers, it will inject into the buttocks the refined tissue using a small cannula, which will allow the performance of micro-grafts, which will have a better chance of surviving.
Dr. Alexandrish Karvendrish will make small incisions, such as those of routine liposuction, to insert the cannula for injections.
In our practice, we have an anesthesiologist in charge of ensuring: on the one hand, the safety of our patients and, on the other hand, that the surgical experience is relaxed and pleasant.
Recovery
Recovery time varies depending on the extent of liposuction. We generally recommend that patients wait seven days before returning to their regular activities.
As is well known, the bbl attempts to increase the size of the buttocks, another technique is the augmentation with buttocks implants. Although this type of surgery is successful, it requires a long and moderately painful post-operative recovery of 2 to 3 weeks.
This procedure is currently reserved for patients who do not have enough excess fat for the fat graft of the buttocks.

Dr. Alexandrish Karvendrish Rodríguez Tavárez, specialized in Plastic Surgery, was trained at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in 2008, obtaining the title of Doctor of Medicine with honor Magna Cum Laude, in the same year she started her Law internship, at the Health Center of Santo Domingo, ending in 2009, when she decides to leave to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to continue her academic and professional preparation. She was trained in General Surgery at the Santa Casa da Misericordia Hospital in Rio de Janeiro – 17th school, with a duration of 3 years, in 2013 she started her Postgraduate in Aesthetic Medicine at the Souza Marques Technical-Educational Foundation with an approach specially directed to cosmetic procedures during one year and in 2014 she started her Postgraduate in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, at the prestigious Postgraduate Service in Plastic Surgery Professor Ronaldo Pontes at the Niterói D’or Hospital in Rio de Janeiro, where she stood out for her commitment, ability, respect and exceptional attention with everyone.
During the 7 years she lived in Brazil, she took several courses and attended both national and international conferences, perfecting her knowledge in the field of Plastic Surgery. She is a member of the Dominican Society of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (SODOCIPRE), Ibero-Latin American Federation of Plastic Surgery (FILACP), Dominican Medical College (CMD) and Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery (SBLMC).
